Koenigsegg

Eker Design started to work with Koenigsegg in 2005 (The Eker Group is now part owner in Koenigsegg), We were looking for another leg to stand on. We wanted a new discipline to expand and learn, and we wanted to work for an international player. We looked at the car industry, which caught our interest. The big companies were getting bigger, but were generally slow in implementing new technology. In parallel – new technology and demand for environmental thinking leads to new concepts and new manufacturing units. These are often small and effective groups with high level of knowledge and short decision time. We favour this way of working, and in 2003, when we first met with Koenigsegg both parties immediately caught interest of working together. We have been a part of the CCX program since start. The project was defined to be an enhanced CCR, designed to meet the US certification regulations, and improved for a higher production volume. Our involvement with Koenigsegg, has proven that we can manage high performance development for the car industry. While the model, which involve a new methodology with reference to the production process – has been transferred from development to production we've been working on skills development around the production line, with new personnel (logistics and production engineers).
